Documents

The Documents tab is your document library. Upload files here and they are automatically processed, chunked, and indexed so the Chat AI can search them.

Uploading Documents

  1. Go to Knowledge → Documents
  2. Click Upload (top right)
  3. Select one or more files from your computer
  4. The system processes each file — extracting text, splitting into chunks, and building the search index

Supported formats include PDF, DOCX, TXT, and other common document types. Processing time depends on file size; large PDFs may take a minute.


Viewing a Document

Click any document in the list to open the preview panel on the right. From here you can:

  • Read the extracted text chunks used for search
  • Download the original file
  • Delete the document from the knowledge base

Collections

Collections let you organise documents into named groups:

  1. Click the collection dropdown
  2. Select + New Collection
  3. Name the collection (e.g. "HR Policies", "Product Docs")
  4. Upload documents directly into it

When chatting, you can scope queries to a single collection to keep answers focused.


Re-indexing

If you update a document, delete the old version and re-upload the new file. The system will re-process and update the index automatically.
