Audience
The Audience section manages the people who receive your campaigns — through dynamic segments and opt-in subscription groups.
Segments
A segment is a dynamically updated group of contacts that meet specific criteria.
Examples of segments:
- "Users who signed up in the last 30 days"
- "Contacts with plan = Pro"
- "Users who have not opened an email in 60 days"
- "Contacts located in Ghana"
Creating a segment:
- Go to Audience → Segments
- Click New Segment
- Define the conditions using the filter builder — combine as many conditions as needed with AND / OR logic
- Preview the matching contacts and click Save
Segments update in real time — as contacts meet or leave the criteria, they are added or removed automatically.
Subscription Groups
Subscription groups let contacts control which types of messages they receive.
Common subscription groups:
- Marketing Emails
- Transactional Alerts
- Weekly Newsletter
- Product Updates
When a contact unsubscribes from a group, they continue receiving messages from all other groups. This keeps you compliant with communication preferences and regulations like CAN-SPAM and GDPR.
Creating a subscription group:
- Go to Audience → Subscription Groups
- Click New Group
- Name the group and write a short description (shown to contacts on the preference page)
- Save — the group is now available to assign to broadcasts and journeys
Managing Contacts
Individual contact records are managed in the Customer 360 module, not here. Use Campaigns Audience to define who receives messages; use Customer 360 to view or edit individual contact details.
